It doesn't exist, copy paste of edits is all you can do for now.

Batch image editing- Can't figure out how to apply the edits I made to one phone to multiple with doing copy paste individually? In fairness I am still doing my initial iCloud Library sync so this may be part of it but not sure why?Ĭould be that, initial syncing of apps can slow things down, and take a while.Ĥ. I noticed my Macbook Air working really hard while making some adjustments to a raw photo. I'm simply importing my Lightroom images a folder at a time, and adding them as new Albums into my own structure (turn on the Sidebar, and it starts to look more like iPhotos did).ģ. That's one of the shortcomings of Photos, it will import albums from iPhotos or Aperture, which you can easily reorganise later. I know you can choose to hide photos but curious if anyone else has found a work around? Once complain I have is not wanting all photos to go into my collections/moments. It's the setup I used for Aperture and Lightroom, keeping the main library on the internal drive, but the bulk of the storage externally.Ģ. I have been migrating using referenced files, as all my master images are on an external FW800 drive. How large is your library and have you noticed it get sluggish as it grows? For those that have switched or have been using Photos since it's inception, I curious about the following.ġ. I'm very interested in hearing others' experiences. It has got me thinking about possibly switching to Photos, but all of this back and forth between programs is a big pain :). However I am not certain I want to have to pay a monthly fee forever and be subject to potential price increases at Adobe's whim. I have been using Lightroom for a while (currently have a CC subscription) and actually like it, except for the speed.

I have kept my Aperture Library as well for now. I just imported my iPhoto and Aperture libraries (merged together in Aperture) into Lightroom using Aperture Exporter. I hope they put some more efforts into developing Photos in the future. But I already created my own workflow to deal with these limitation.

The only one thing I'm missing - "Edit in external editor" right in the Photos and connections back from Photoshop to Photos, so edited JPEG will update automatically (like it was in iPhotos and Aperture). For editing - I pick photos I like and edit RAWs in Photoshop. I love the way it keeps my original RAW files and entire simplicity of image storing system. I don't do any editing in Photos - just archiving and viewing. I migrated from Aperture/iPhoto to Photos. The MacPhun apps are excellent indeed, and make Photos quite a powerful media manager and editor for 'the rest of us' The addition of the new MacPhun extension capable apps has swung it for me, and I'm now migrating over. Like you I find Photos, linking to my iCloud, Apple TV, iPhone and iApps, a much better solution. Witht the recent problematic update, and their feature limited policy for those of us that prefer the standalone licence model, I am no longer feeling Lightroom is the best option for me. Lightroom also has a UI that I've never taken too, I find it cumbersome and fiddly. I've got fed up with mucking about importing, exporting and swapping about. Thoughts? Anyone thinking or doing the same thing?įunny enough, yes, I am also just in the process of doing the same thing here too. My only questions are how it will handle a large portfolio and processing power to edit raw when needed (I plan on shooting more jpg to again lessen the amount of time editing). I know Photos doesn't touch Lightroom in the editing department but for my needs it might suffice. With iCloud Library and the decent organizational tools with Photos I like the simplicity of just using one app and having everything synced seamlessly in the cloud. What I have noticed is I get so far behind on editing the raw that it inhibits me from shooting. To take another step back, I am mainly shooting family pics both everyday shots and lots of kids sports from 2nd to high school. Previously I was doing everything in Lightroom then exporting all of my top photos to iPhoto so that they can be viewed on iPhone, TV, etc. My reasoning is simplicity and keeping everything in the same ecosystem. I am not 100% convinced yet but slowly doing some migration and testing. Yes, this will catch a lot of people off guard.
